Do you Crave Ice?

Do you find that you crave ice?  Somehow that crunching justs seems to be exactly what you need? If so, you may be suffering from Pica which is associated with iron deficiency. After gastric bypass surgery, we are prone to iron deficiency because iron is absorbed in the first part of the small intestines which is bypassed. Stay healthy! Check with your doctor.

I was severly anemic one year after my bypass. I was sent to a Hematologist for information on IV infusion of Iron. After all my test he concluded I was the healthest anemic person he had ever seen. He perscribed sunshine and one tablets 3 times a day. He also made me take my iron tablets with a chewable vitamin C. Our new stomach does not have enough acid to make the iron absorbable. Since I have been doing this my iron count has tripled and I feel so much better.
